The California state fleet has reduced its petroleum consumption by 13% compared to a 2003 baseline, according to a state progress report. In 2003, the state fleet consumed 38,559,715 gallons of petroleum-based fuel (gasoline and diesel), according to the report. Department of Water Resources: 218. State Parks: 586.

Using light water reactor (LWR) technology, the NuScale Power Module is cooled by natural circulation, is entirely self-contained and is installed underwater and underground to maximize safety. The reactor and containment vessel operate inside a water-filled pool built below grade. Water is heated as it passes over the core (3).

Fluor Corporation has committed to making an investment exceeding $30 million in NuScale Power LLC., NuScale Power is commercializing, a modular, scalable 45 Megawatt electric Light Water Reactor nuclear power plant. Water in the reactor circulates using a convection process known as natural circulation.

That continued until 2003, when British Airways and Air France retired their fleets, together amounting to just 12 aircraft. Boom has stated that its plane will go supersonic only over water.
