Gasoline engine-powered models as well as the standard hybrid are available with all-wheel drive. Escape Plug-In Hybrid has a Level 1 / Level 2 AC charging port. Using a 110-volt Level 1 charge, the estimated time to fully charge the battery is 10 to 11 hours. In EV Now mode, drivers can operate on all-electric driving.

The 3-row, 7-seat SUV weighs 5,059 lbs (2,295 kg) in its PHEV version (4,627 lbs/2,099 kg conventional), yet delivers the performance, handling and feel of a smaller luxury sporty sedan, even up and down twisty canyon roads. This version of the Q7 PHEV will also use a 2.0-liter liter gasoline engine, the 2.0 Audi Q7 e-tron.

The new PHEV Outlander will be a permanent 4WD electric vehicle, supplemented by a gasoline engine when needed. Depending on power consumption and remaining battery charge, the system will start the gasoline engine automatically as a generator (Series Mode). 1 compression ratio.

Out in the desert as part of Burning Man , our encampment, Snow Koan Solar, is setting up a solar photovoltaic EV Charging Station (at 7:30 and Desert) for electric scooters, golf carts, sofas and barstools. The electric sofas and scooters were so much cooler - and quieter - than the gasoline powered stinkers that predominate.
