The increase in the fleet average new car CO 2 figure follows 19 years of reductions resulting from investment in new, advanced engine, fuel and battery technology, as well as the use of lightweight materials such as aluminium and composites. These ongoing improvements mean average CO 2 is still a third (-33.1%) lower than in 2000.

Honda set a global target for two-thirds of all sales to come from electrified models by 2030 and to halve its total company CO 2 emissions from 2000 levels by 2050. The new, dedicated hybrid vehicle will utilize Honda’s second-generation two-motor hybrid system, which is currently deployed in the Accord Hybrid ( earlier post ).

Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power. The market would be cornered by Toyota and Honda. GM doesnt have a chance. Way to go morons.
