General Motors has already pushed back production of several key electric models, including the Equinox EV, Silverado EV, and GMC Sierra Denali EV. GM expects the Equinox EV to be “the most affordable” in its segment with up to 319 miles range. GM should be doubling down with all of its resources to get EVs into the hands of customers.

Not wanting to be one-upped, GM is promising a more complete solution in the upcoming Silverado. The average 250-mile range battery packs for EVs today have the capacity to power a household when the power grid fails. An alternative would be using tens to hundreds of connected cars as a resource while their owners are elsewhere.
