Electrify America to install 2,800 charging stations at workplaces and multi-unit dwellings across US

Level 2 charging will provide for a charging speed up to 20-25 miles of driving range per hour, which would allow drivers to fully charge their electric vehicles at their home or workplace. The 2,800 Level 2 charging stations will be located at approximately 500 sites, all with more than one charging station.

Ford names first markets for the Focus Electric

Ford Motor Company has named the first markets that will sell the Focus Electric, Ford’s all-electric passenger car: Atlanta; Austin and Houston, Texas; Boston; Chicago; Denver; Detroit; Los Angeles; San Francisco; San Diego; New York; Orlando, Fla.; Portland, Ore.; Range is targeted to be 100 miles (161 km) on a full charge.

APTA reports record public transportation usage in US in 2013; growth outpacing population and VMT growth

While vehicle miles traveled on roads (VMT) went up 0.3%, public transportation use in 2013 increased by 1.1%. Since 1995 public transit ridership is up 37.2%, outpacing population growth, which is up 20.3%, and vehicle miles traveled (VMT), which is up 22.7%. in 2013 with 17 out of 27 transit systems reporting increases.
