NTSB Chair questions safety impact of heavy EVs

A GMC Hummer EV weighs over 9,000 pounds, up from about 6,000 pounds. The battery pack alone weighs over 2,900 pounds—about the weight of a Honda Civic. The electric F-150 weighs 700 kg more than its petrol-powered predecessor. Smaller electric cars are heavier than their petrol equivalents, too.

I really would love to get a 120D coupe BMW u cant beat 0-60 of 7.5 and 49 mpg.

and your Honda/Sony car will be perfectly happy with any Durcell/Energizer pack just like AA calls in your flashlight. No single vehicle does it all even in todays petrol world. If every car accepts 2 or 4 or 6 of these universal packs then true economies of scale can kick in in their manufacture. that my day to day car cant solve.

GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. Honda has probably sold more Civics in a year than the combined total of all 18 of those GM models. If the EV1 was viable (or even close) we would see Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc all with 80 mile cars right now.do you see that?
