The all-new, production version of the 2019 Insight ( earlier post ) will make its global production debut at the 2018 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). Manufacturing. The Insight will be manufactured alongside the Civic and CR-V at Honda’s plant in Greensburg, Indiana.

To make room for these moves, Honda will conclude Insight production in June. Honda will introduce all-new models of the CR-V Hybrid this year, followed by the Accord Hybrid, which will eventually make up 50% of the sales mix of each model. —Mamadou Diallo, vice president of Auto Sales at American Honda Motor.

In the case of Honda hybrid owners, more than 52% of them stayed with the Honda brand, while just under 20% of this same owner group bought another hybrid vehicle from any brand. Having a hybrid in the product lineup can certainly give a brand a competitive edge when it comes to attracting new customers.

Demand is so high for green cars after government incentives were introduced in Japan, that the Honda Motor Company, the country’s number two car manufacturer, has said it will start partial weekend shifts at two factories in a bid to push low emission vehicles off the production line.
