The V2H Bundle includes a bidirectional charger and home charger that can let the structure go off-grid. The system also works with solar-powered homes, and GM has partnered with SunPower to create the connections. The Cadillac Escalade IQ is also expected soon, along with the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV.

GM last week announced details regarding its vehicle-to-home (V2H) system, set to launch with the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST , that will help EV owners back up their home without the help of a storage battery like a Tesla Powerwall or a backup generator. Ford’s installation of the home system relies on solar provider SunRun.

GM set up its system and brought out two new Silverados to demonstrate both their vehicle-to-load (V2L) and V2H capabilities. Speaking of home battery solutions, GM Energy also plans to sell one of those, though that unit won’t be for sale until later this year (same with solar integration, which will also come this year).
