Empire State Development (ESD) has offered Bannon a $3 million capital grant to proceed with the project.

Unfortunately for the current generation of electric vehicles, many will not be eligible for the grants, the government’s scheme is likely to assist the sales of the next generation of electric cars and hybrids (such as the plug-in hybrids) which by the government’s own confession are not expected to hit the UK roads until 2011.
