Volvo has some of the most aggressive goals when it comes to brand-wide electrification, and the new C40 Recharge is a big step in its electric charge towards zero emissions. Its official name is the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric, and it’s available as either a single motor or dual motor (the latter is called the Twin).

Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi who initially tried to play the H2 game, but now are totally anti-Hydrogen and are investing in battery electric cars. You can do a google search to check the facts on energy creation. Maybe H2 will be okay in large vehicles like trucks. The entire auto industry has given up on investing in Hydrogen cars.

Another reason VW chose to build its own OS instead of using something like Google's Android OS (which Ford and GM are doing) is to keep tight control over vehicle data that can be monetized in the future. Tesla has recently offered a monthly subscription to owners of Tesla's who have a Full Self-Driving computer 3.0

Such prices comfortably eclipse the $121,990 Volvo Australia currently asks for the XC90 Recharge Ultimate PHEV. The brand’s two full EVs already on sale here are the XC40 Recharge from $72,990 and C40 Recharge from $74,990. 2024 Volvo EX90 range-topper boasts 380kW/910Nm and 600km range, but could cost close to $200,000.
