They are either glorified golf cart city cars like this one or they are only for the very wealthy like the Tesla. Several global indicators on the supply of oil and the known carbon pollution environmental damages its caused all lead us to find cleaner ways of transportation. Toyota still has not made any money on the Prius.

Furthermore, changing the battery pack on say a Toyota Prius often costs a fortune, at least in most European countries, so such cars better be VERY cheap, but they’re not.
