has decided to invest more in its upcoming Georgia plant to produce hybrids amidst the slowing demand for electric vehicles (EVs). Hyundai’s Georgia Metaplant was supposed to be a dedicated factory for EV production. Earlier this month, the South Korean automaker was considering hybrid production at its upcoming Georgia plant.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will supply the Government of Georgia with 45 Outlander PHEV plug-in hybrid EVs and 51 i-MiEV all-electric vehicles. The supply of vehicles stems from an Overseas Development Agreement between the governments of Japan and Georgia. The vehicles are due to be delivered in January 2018.

2025 Lexus UX 300h Hyundai last week confirmed that its Metaplant in Georgia, once due to be a dedicated EV plant, will also get U.S. Jeep announced Thursday that a plug-in hybrid version of its Wrangler-based Gladiator pickup will arrive “later next year.” The UX 300h AWD now gets 43 mpg combined, and it starts around $40,000.
