The running cost of the CNG Aveo is approximately 54% lower than a similar vehicle powered by gasoline and 25% lower than a similar vehicle powered by diesel, according to GM. The Chevrolet Aveo CNG is equipped with next-generation computer-controlled CNG injection technology from Italy.

Opel is expanding and enhancing its Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) offer. The dual fuel engine can operate in LPG and gasoline mode and is available in two power versions: 103 kW/140 hp with 200 N·m/148 lb-ft of torque in the Astra 5-door and Sports Tourer and with 88 kW/120 hp with 175 N·m/129 lb-ft in the Meriva.
