A study by researchers at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Tianjin University has found that the use of fumigation ethanol in a 4-cylinder diesel decreases NO x , smoke and particulate mass and number concentrations. A paper on their work was published online 14 October in the ACS journal Energy & Fuels.
