They are converting up to 40 15-passenger Mercedes commercial vans into PHEVs, with some vehicles using NiMH and others advanced lithium-ion batteries, plus diesel and gasoline engines. These are "features" -- and no one asks about the payback.

I wish the thing was for sale as-is. Mercedes please take note. Well they did give brief bursts of acceleration through the parking lot to show that it does have some Roadster goodness to it. But yes, there was no slalom to see how it handles the twisties. Why is it taking so long for manufacturers to get this sorted??
