The US Coast Guard R&D Center is using the Gevo-blended fuel as part of a 12-month, long-term operational study on marine engines that began during June. The US Coast Guard completed a 3-month round of testing in Florida earlier this year under the CRADA with Honda engines running on fuel supplied by Gevo which contained 16.1%

Sales of the Escape and Mariner hybrids totalled 1,157 units in December, an increase of 0.7%, representing 5.2% of all Escape and Mariner sales. Total Escape and Mariner sales increased 56%, propelled by a 74.7% Honda reported December hybrid sales of 2,110 units, a 103.5% Total Honda sales for December increased 24.5%

Combined reported US hybrid sales (from Toyota, Honda, Ford, GM and Nissan) in April totalled 21,735 units, a 45.5% Comparing GM’s April sales with March, total volume was up 11%, or about 16,600 cars, crossovers and trucks, largely driven by a return to more normal volumes of fleet sales compared with a very weak first quarter.

Retail sales were down 9% while fleet sales declined 47%. Ford Escape sales totaled 20,241, a July record and up 94% versus a year ago, and Mercury Mariner sales were up 71%.
