Harley-Davidson, the legendary and revered American manufacturer of motorcycles, announced that it is establishing LiveWire as a separate electric motorcycle brand on July 8,2021, just in time for the first of nine outdoor International Motorcycle Shows. I’ve always wondered how Harley would market its silent motorcycles.

The company is also working on the radical Land Glider Concept (see article ) which looks and feels like a mixture between a car, a motorcycle and an aeroplane; and the Nissan Nuvu , a compact all-electric city car with solar panels that can travel 80miles on a single charge. Faye Sunderland.

Our friend Doug, of Tesla Motors Club fame, was at the event and went for a ride in the diminutive one, armed with a video camera to record the ride, the results of which we are happy to share with you after the break. Still, the instant torque of the electric motor is a rush you get to experience all the time in city driving; each time you pull away from a red light and stop sign youre wondering why gasoline engines ever became popular. The car is noisy, with the hum of the electric motor omnipresent when youre not at a standstill.

" In other words, General Motors is going to lose its shirt until the Volt establishes itself in the marketplace. General Motors has sought $10.3 cheaper (frame, electric motors, battery), lasts longer (less moving parts = less to break and maintain) and just a greater win, more future compatible too.
