New data shows that motor vehicles generate more than €440 billion in taxation per year for national governments in the major EU markets plus the UK, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) reports. The three countries that do not apply CO2-based taxation are Estonia, Lithuania and Poland.

With more than 550 electric taxis on European roads, Nissan is now Europe’s best-selling manufacturer of 100% electric taxis. based in Budapest, has purchased 65 Nissan LEAFs in a bid to become Hungary’s largest zero-emission fleet. During 2015, more than 100 electric vehicles were delivered to taxi companies across Europe.

Nordic Green, a company focused on the introduction of bio-methanol, has signed an Agency Agreement with BioMCN , a producer of bio-methanol, for the representation and sales of bio-methanol in Nordic (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland) and Baltic (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) countries.

University of Kent (UK) spin-off Oil Drum Ltd , has signed a licensing deal with UAB Hydro2 that will enable its on-board hydrogen generator technology to be manufactured, sold and installed in the Baltic States.
