The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) released a white paper, “ Transportation Electrification: Utility Fleets Leading the Charge ,” that focuses on the electric power industry’s effort to accelerate the expansion of electric transportation in commercial and retail markets, beginning with electric utility fleets.

The study, “Life Cycle Greenhouse Gas and Energy Study of Automotive Lightweighting,” found that AHSS-intensive vehicles had lower or equivalent life cycle emissions than aluminum-intensive vehicles for every class of vehicles tested: sedans, trucks, SUVs and alternative power train vehicles. Greenhouse gas emissions from the global maritime sector are increasing. The Fourth IMO Greenhouse Gas study, published in August 2020, predicts that emissions could increase by as much as 130% by 2050 compared with 2008 levels. The Oslo-based company produces roughly 8.5 million tonnes of ammonia annually.
