Hyundai’s first-ever pickup comes at a time where the Ford Maverick compact pickup is making waves of its own. The Ford Maverick is more truck-like, while the Hyundai Santa Cruz is more car-like. A “dry” DCT does not use oil, but is the more fuel efficient of the two types. A little crossover, a little truck.

Used Priuses, especially the Generation 2 that were made from 2004 to 2009 are becoming a bargain to buy, especially for the MPG and features you get in return. Huge leg space in front and back, just like in a Ford Mondeo or VW Passat. The official fuel consumption is 5 l/100 km (47 mpg US) and that is bang on for us as well.

The dash layout is logical, simple and clean, with three round gauges (tachometer, speedometer and water temperature/fuel) with black faces and white letters were easy to read.
