In June 2021, DHL Freight started piloting a Bio-LNG solution (Bio-Liquefied Natural Gas from sustainable biomass) with Shell on three haulier trucks to reduce CO 2 emissions in road freight transport for DHL’s customer Grundfos. The Bio-LNG used by Shell in the test is produced from agricultural waste.

DME offers performance that is similar to diesel, making it suited for fleets that have to haul heavy loads. DME produces zero soot, zero sulfur oxides (SO x ), less NO x and also significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to diesel (especially if made from biogas).
