A new study by a team from Aarhus University in Denmark has found that car dealerships pose a significant barrier to electric vehicle adoption at the point of sale due to a perceived lack of business case viability in relation to gasoline and diesel vehicles. Between 2009 and 2011, Chinese buyers purchased 13,000 EVs and PHEVs—more than U.S. Spain has set a goal of 250,000 electric vehicles on the road by 2014.
