It will be offered in one standard trim level, along with two option packages: a Premium Trim Package and a Rear Camera and Park Assist Package. By the end of the year, more than 2,500 US dealers will receive a dedicated Volt demo. Within twelve months of the retail launch, Volt will be available at dealerships nation-wide.

The production plug-in hybrid has a number of key changes from the 125 prototype demo units that were deployed in the field for testing and customer feedback. The demo units defaulted to EV mode. The on-board charging system accommodates single pulse DC 110/220 volt input, and is compliant to SAE J1772 standards.
