LSVs are more than a golf cart—they are street legal on most roads posted 35 mph or less. In cities such as Washington, DC, with a default speed limit of 20 mph, LSVs can get anywhere in the city and beyond. Yet knowing where those roads are and where a GEM can take you can be a challenge.

Out in the desert as part of Burning Man , our encampment, Snow Koan Solar, is setting up a solar photovoltaic EV Charging Station (at 7:30 and Desert) for electric scooters, golf carts, sofas and barstools. We'll also be taking Burning Man art projects off petroleum generators by switching them to solar electricity.

Wind, hydro, DC transmission lines, and smart grid electronics are also Portland strengths.
