Factory Zero has gone through a $2 billion conversion, and it is expected to produce several all-electric cars, starting with the GMC Hummer EV, a hulking zero-emissions pickup truck which, ironically, would (mostly) not be included in the Biden administration’s planned EV tax credit program.

Along with Tedd Abramson’s Zero Truck in San Diego and Smith Trucks in London, we now have EVI (I keep wanting to write that as EV1:~). The more the merrier, the market for these is going to explode soon with Obama’s stimulation plan, and its tax of $7,500 to $15,000 for electric trucks.

April 17, 2009 3:14 pm Link Goodbye GM is right, they h ad an electric car called the EV1 what happened to it? The high cost of manufacturing the Volt is exactly why the tax credits of $2500 for a vehicle with 4 kWh of battery capacity and $417 for every kWh over 4 (so that there is a $7500 credit for the Volt) were legislated.
