Mopar has introduced new, Wi-Fi-capable, Level 2 (240-volt) charging units for at-home charging for Jeep 4xe and Chrysler plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. In addition, new Wi-Fi connectivity gives customers the ability to monitor and control charging any time and anywhere via a mobile app and web portal.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling the 2017-2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid—a plug-in hybrid minivan—over concerns of a fire risk relating to the 12-volt accessory battery connection. The recall affects 27,634 vehicles—every Pacifica Hybrid produced for all model years combined.

Chrysler calls it a “multipurpose vehicle,” but we will stick with modern minivan. The only minivan with a plug. kilowatt onboard charger will replenish an empty battery to the maximum 32 miles driving range in about two hours using a 240-volt Level 2 charger. Expect about 14 hours with a regular, 120-volt household outlet.

Clean Fleet Report was driving the highly optioned Limited, which had the standard solar panel roof that charges the 12-volt and hybrid batteries, producing two miles of electric driving range for every six hours the car is left in the sun. This horizontal lighting connects the brake lights, which have small air flow fins.
