Nissan has launched a new fleet of Nikola and Kenworth electric semis that will deliver vehicles to dealers in Los Angeles. Nissan will only be starting with two trucks, one from Kenworth and one from Nikola, but they will serve as a testbed for expanded use in the near future. To make the Energy Commission’s buy-down program as efficient and simple as possible, the incentive reservations are awarded in blocks to vehicle manufacturers or their designated dealers. Kenworth is the original equipment manufacturer of the vehicles. The incentives are passed on to the individual buyers at the point of sale.
