The BioBoost project concentrates on dry and wet residual biomass and wastes as feedstock for de-centralized conversion by fast pyrolysis, catalytic pyrolysis and hydrothermal carbonization to the intermediate energy carriers oil, coal or slurry.

We decided to increase the battery pack size to increase our storage capacity: This enabled us to take more power at the night rate and also give more scope to store more of the solar energy rather than export or waste it. Apparently in total this equates to a saving of 715 KG of coal burning and a saving of 1.8 Tons of CO2. .

The vision is fuelled by the fear of climate change and the need to find green alternatives to dirty coal, unpopular nuclear power and unreliable gas imports from Russia. Every scrap of waste food, garden trimmings and even sewage would be used to ferment gas. Are we going to burn more oil, natural gas, or (gasp) coal to produce it?

If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal. We should have built more Nuclear power plants and created a nuclear waste recycling program.
