Petrol heads and EV cynics can’t stand the fact that multiple governments all over the world are phasing out Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles and promoting EV’s to achieve oil independence and promote clean air for their citizens. Is their criticism warranted? Absolutely not. Why should the government interfere?

A plan is necessary to provide certainty to business and consumers that a future transport system will be affordable, convenient, safe and sustainable. New Zealanders need to understand that the future of transport will look different than it does today. We also don’t need to ‘reinvent the wheel’. Japan has a 2035 deadline.
