Clean Cars 2030 passed as an amendment to E2SHB 1287 , a bill mandating electric utility preparation for an all-EV future, with a vote of 25-23 in the Senate and 54-43 in the House. Nicole Macri (D-Seattle) as HB 1204, the bill is now the first LDV combustion-engine phaseout target to be passed through the legislative process.

The charging stations, powered by ChargePoint, will be installed at up to 15 stores along a 1,350-miles corridor from Seattle to Denver. ChargePoint’s DC fast chargers would supply Volvo’s C40 Recharge from 20 percent state of charge to 90 percent in just 40 minutes.

The Kenworth T680 day cab’s fuel cell produces electricity to power the dual-rotor electric motor to move the truck, or it can recharge the lithium-ion batteries for use later. The T680 has been running trials in the Seattle area and performing very well. Kenworth’s hydrogen fuel-cell T680 is a reality. —Stephan Olsen.
