Chrysler used this for their EPIC Minivan and could charge at a rate of about one mile per minute. You could leave Los Angeles and drive to Baker, stop and have a meal while the car recharges, and have plenty of juice to make it to your hotel in Vegas. Some industrial sites are even set up with 440V 3 phase service.

Chrysler alone, for instance, may have 3 different battery pack shapes in its upcoming models. Therefore, until we get quick-charge batteries -- based on new breakthroughs, Ill take a WAG and estimate that we will have real 5-minute quick-charge batteries in perhaps 10 years -- we are likely to get our juice mostly from our home chargers.

V2G helps solve the major problem that demand for electricity is high during the day when everything from industrial plants to air conditioning is running full blast and then excess electricity is wasted at night. So while my car is powering the great city during the day how will I have juice to drive home at the end of the day?

We should have built more Nuclear power plants and created a nuclear waste recycling program. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. Commendation, absolutely, but GM needs to make sure their company continues on to make sure that money doesnt just go to waste.
