Prestolite Electric Propulsion Systems (PEPS) has officially launched production at its new factory in Beijing. The automated PEPS production line currently has a monthly capacity of 200 electric motors and power electronics modules. PEPS has also set up facilities to test, validate and optimize its products.

Finnish manufacturer Visedo is unveiling a new electric motor design at BusWorld 2017 that is optimized for the bus market and ready for mass manufacture. The upgraded range includes motors in 4 different sizes: XS-short, XS, XSe and S, ranging from 50 to 343 kW. The reluctance technology maximizes the pull­out torque of the machine.

According to a new binding agreement, Daimler AG will invest in BAIC Motor, the passenger car unit of BAIC Group. Daimler’s investment will take place through the issuance of new shares corresponding to a 12% stake in BAIC Motor. Daimler’s shareholding in BAIC Motor is subject to the approval by the relevant authorities.
