The contract between the two companies provides that e.motor Advance will deliver 100 sets of its drivetrain and battery pack systems to Foton for their Midi-E electric car. The University of California, Davis and the BMW Group released the largest publicly available study of electric-car users yet conducted, including more than 120 families who drove the fully electric MINI E automobile more than 1 million miles in California, New York and New Jersey from June 2009 to June 2010.

Beginning in 2011 in the US, Europe and China, a test fleet of more than 1,000 BMW ActiveE vehicles, produced at BMW’s Leipzig plant, will provide further insights into the everyday use of the vehicle. Unlike the MINI E, the BMW ActiveE features a distinctive “intermediate position” of the accelerator pedal, allowing the vehicle to “glide”.
