We live in an age in which it's cheap to take photos but will eventually be costly to store them en masse, as backup services set limits and begin charging for overages. We created a similarly human-based scheme that we hope will also inspire ambitious future applications. That, however, isn't really true.

Everyone’s all excited that Ford just turned a profit, but they’re doing it with a fleet of uninspired crappy cars that they practically have to give away. You might as well call most of the cars they’re selling “future clunkers.&#

A question about bidirectional charging was also asked. Elon Musk noted that bidirectional charging is not that useful since Powerwall is better. Elon noted that the most profound architectural changes would be in future vehicles. he notes that self-driving is actually a critical part of a sustainable future.

While OEMs and utilities continue to define and refine hardware standards and communication protocols for smart charging, a tremendous amount of work needs to be done in preparing both the grid and the process to accommodate the expected influx of plug-ins, and to make the process as easy as possible for consumers. —Jon Lauckner.

It’s mind-blowing, if not quite in the re-wire brain territory of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. “It’s not warm and fuzzy, more a hard, electric future,” I’m told. Very cool and ideal to charge phones, your laptop, coffee machine, widescreen TV or even bar fridge. That’s daft acceleration.
