The green tire was showcased along with several EVs that include original-equipment Michelin installations, including the Porsche Taycan and Genesis GV60, underscoring that Michelin sees the sustainability factor as especially important in EVs. Even the lighter oil can be used to create resins used in the tires.

Last year, John Carey tested the EQE 350+ (Australia’s not getting this model from launch) and EQE53 4matic+ on some of Europe’s finest roads, but this was our first chance to sample the range on our own territory. It’s supercar fast, yes, but it won’t give you the satisfying tingles of a petrol-powered AMG great.

It’s mind-blowing, if not quite in the re-wire brain territory of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. I bet the brakes would take a pasting, and those 21-inch Michelin Pilot Sport 4s aren’t going to be cheap to replace after a few track sessions. The ton is up in 3.5 seconds, which let’s not forget is supercar rapid…. I shall miss it.
