It’s called the XC40 Recharge, and the earliest versions aren’t cheap, priced from about $55,000 including delivery. Where it falls down is its EPA-rated range: a mere 208 miles. Android running the dashboard means Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Play Store, and more, are instantly available and work the way you already use them.

Although it looks cheap, the feel of the door handle is more premium than you might expect. Outside the LE there’s a constant reminder of base trim via some very cheap-looking plastic wheel covers. Worth reporting: Android Auto sometimes refused to connect to a phone (Google Pixel 6a). Not a big negative, but worth a mention.

Millions will plug-in their electric vehicles (EV), plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and fuel cell vehicles (FCV) at night when electricity is cheap, then plug-in during the day when energy is expensive and sell those extra electrons at a profit. Furthermore, changing the battery pack on say a Toyota Prius often costs a fortune, at least in most European countries, so such cars better be VERY cheap, but they’re not. Many EV groups online for more info or google EV clubs or EV racing and follow the website’s links.
