At IAA Mobility 2021 in Munich, Porsche is presenting the Mission R concept electric car that combines advanced technologies and sustainable materials, such as natural fibre-reinforced plastics, with a passion for racing. The Mission R is on a par with the performance level of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Porsche has introduced the 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid sports car, the first of six or more plug-in hybrids coming from the Volkswagen Group. Porsche had unveiled the concept version of the 918 Spyder Plug-in Hybrid at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010. This design requires a new thermodynamic air channeling concept.

The e-tron houses two asynchronous electric motors (ASM) that produce up to 402 horsepower in boost mode. A more powerful, three-motor variant with fully independent rear torque vectoring is also under development. For the e-tron GT, Audi is sharing synergies with the Porsche brand, which developed the J1 architecture.

The “million-level new energy flagship sedan,” as BYD called it, takes design from the brand’s U9. BYD’s Yangwang showcased the U9 supercar last April at a tech launch event with four electric motors good for a 0 to 62 mph (0-100km/hr) sprint in 2 seconds. The new Yangwang U7 is inspired by the U9 with a “family style” design language.

The luxury off-roader starts at over $150,000 (1,098,000 RMB) but is designed to tackle any terrain with 1,200 hp, tank turns, tire blowout stabilization, and other cool features. The sedan’s design takes from the U9 with an added “family style” language. It also featured large air intakes and carbon fiber side skirts.

The new ultra-light transmission with a carbon fiber housing held up to the Le Mans endurance test covering a distance of 5,151 kilometers in all four vehicles with no problems, the company said. Power from the Motor Generator Unit accelerates the carbon-fiber flywheel, which runs in a high vacuum.
