Toyotas Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries are considered "non-hazardous waste" [See "high voltage electrical systems" ]. Though the Ni-MH batteries were originally warranteed for 75,000 miles, these cars have routinely exceed 120,000 miles and are still going strong. Are the batteries recyclable?
