Used Priuses, especially the Generation 2 that were made from 2004 to 2009 are becoming a bargain to buy, especially for the MPG and features you get in return. The official fuel consumption is 5 l/100 km (47 mpg US) and that is bang on for us as well. l/100 km (51 mpg US) in the summer, and 5.3 l/100 km (44 mpg US) in winter.

The EPA rated the Santa Cruz’ fuel economy at 19 mpg city/27 highway/22 combined. In 226 miles of mostly freeway driving through Southern California we averaged 23.8 4-cylinder that gets 21 mpg city/26 highway/23 combined with front-wheel drive, and 21/27/23 mpg with AWD. The base Santa Cruz engine is the non-turbo 2.5L

For even more space, the second row folds flat producing plenty of room for a run to the DIY store or maybe some antiquing. The EPA rates the CX-9 AWD at 20 mpg city/26 highway/23 combined. In 235 miles driving through Southern California, we averaged 24.1 The fronts and outboard second row seats are heated and quilted.

The EPA has rated the 2024 Maverick Hybrid fuel economy at 42 mpg city/33 highway and 37 combined. In 212 miles driving through Southern California, we averaged 44.3 mpg, with the best fuel economy on an all-city 55-mile run where the average was a stellar 46.3 A small travel trailer was easily hauled behind the Maverick Hybrid.

Over 245 miles driving through Southern California we averaged 27.1 It didn’t rain in Southern California during our test week, but our history with front-wheel drive cars is they track well in the wet. In 225 miles driving through Southern California we averaged 45.4 Fuel Economy King in a Not-So-Small Pickup. A smaller, but not small pickup.
