High temperatures can crack part of the rear door latch, causing the door to open while driving. Though the vehicles are different sizes, shapes, and types, they share door latch assemblies as part of the Ford family. A previous recall issued in 2020 involved many more cars for a similar issue.

Interestingly, EV registrations in the United States seem to be picking up in locations outside California. The Golden State corresponded to 38% of new EV registrations in Q1 2021, while Florida comprised 7.2%.

A study of Vehicle Owner Questionnaires from April through July 2016 shows that the agency has received 155 complaints from consumers with vehicles registered in hot and humid states, who attempted to have their recalled driver and passenger-side airbags repaired, only to be turned away by dealers for lack of parts.

Participating Chevrolet dealers in seven key launch markets across Canada have begun taking orders for the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Volt, with an MSRP starting at C$41,545 (US$43,568). GM says that this is part of its plan to gain exposure for the vehicle and the Chevrolet brand.
