The Times Online reports the British government's Department for Transport (DfT) has conducted a safety test on the all-electric Reva G-Whiz and found it wanting. Concerned with the results, the DfT took the unusual step of releasing its finding early and is "urgently seeking a review of the European regulations covering the sale of the cars."

We chatted up with Jayasuriya, the state head of TML for Electric Vehicle sales. Jay’s first EV was the DC motor Reva, which he bought way back in the early 2000s. Jayram was looking at buying a used E2O, but one of his friends who has one has had service issues. Sales are incidentally back to normal now.
