Used Priuses, especially the Generation 2 that were made from 2004 to 2009 are becoming a bargain to buy, especially for the MPG and features you get in return. It was time to buy our first car. I was nervous as this was the first time that I was buying a car, so the experience was new to me. How did it all start?

Required reading: Bill Moore's EVWorld review and Martin Zimmerman's LA Times piece about their test drives of the Toyota Plug-in Prius and the hydrogen fuel cell Highlander FCHV. Third-party and DIY converters can't muck with every system on a car. Toyota ought to be pleased with the tone of both stories.

At these prices, people are buying the "environmental feature" -- they want to be among the first owners of the worlds cleanest extended-range vehicles. They are early adopters, buying "Version 1.0" Both Toyota and Ford are now producing a few prototype conversions of their own Priuses and Escapes for research purposes.)

Can these things add up to make a car that people want to buy? It seems like it still may be cheaper to just buy a well used Lotus Elise and modify it yourself. I also think it will be cheap, which is why I think someone will buy the group. Small size. New technology. An (expected) high price tag. A troubled company.
