Bill lives a good 60 miles from San Francisco, so he needs to get some juice to make his trip home after work. That’s why I ran into him at the Whole Food DC charger. Some argue it’s so easy and so cheap employers should just do it.

If a complete overnight charge is the goal, 120V will still suffice for a Volt, but a 240V EVSE will be essential for most who buy an all-electric car. I am pleased to participate in the EV Project, which came late to the San Francisco Bay Area, and happy to get my tax-payer funded charger and DC Fast port. This is not rocket science.

Day 4: Juicing Up Despite all my driving fun, I’m still returning just under Kia’s official consumption figure. I bet the brakes would take a pasting, and those 21-inch Michelin Pilot Sport 4s aren’t going to be cheap to replace after a few track sessions. Opportunities galore. I mustn’t be trying hard enough.
