NASA has selected selected Boston-Power’s Swing battery system ( earlier post ) as a part of Project M—a proposed project to land an operational humanoid robot on the moon in 1,000 days. Boston-Power is delivering a 2.5kWh energy storage system which includes its Swing cells as well as an integrated battery management system.

BMW of North America and Coulomb Technologies announced that drivers of the BMW ActiveE all-electric vehicle ( earlier post ) will be able to take advantage of the expansion of the ChargePoint Network into the Boston Metro area. The charging stations will be located in the Boston metropolitan area, primarily within the Route 495 Beltway.

The concept behind V2G had gained traction in the late 1990s after California’s landmark zero-emission-vehicle (ZEV) mandate went into effect and compelled automakers to commercialize electric cars. And with the revival of the EV, the V2G concept was reborn. The experiment seemed to prove the feasibility of the technology.
