Synovate Motoresearch presented some very interesting survey results at the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference in Long Beach, CA last week, as reported in MIT's Technology Review. When consumers were told this, the percentage of people who would consider buying the cars dropped from 52 to 33 percent.

From April 2010 anyone buying a new car will pay a different rate of vehicles tax in the first year of registration. Can these things add up to make a car that people want to buy? It seems like it still may be cheaper to just buy a well used Lotus Elise and modify it yourself. I also think it will be cheap, which is why I think someone will buy the group. Read reviews, get free pricing, and much more. Small size. New technology.

Cheap to run but expensive to buy, they offer theprospect of low or zero carbon emissions, but manufacturers won’t sell themunless motorists want to buy them – and motorists won’t buy unless the priceis right and there are enough places to charge the batteries. Car buyers were less enthusiastic.
