Test engineers chose a route across Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Bulgaria for the trip. The batteries of all the electric trucks were only charged at publicly available charging stations throughout the tour. Both liquid-cooled motors generate a continuous output of 330 kW as well as a peak performance of 400 kW.

The truck features Cummins technology with a 195 kW/266 hp electric motor (peak: 250 kW/340 hp). The motor is powered by a battery pack of up to 222 kWh, providing a range of up to 220 kilometers when the truck is fully laden. As the battery pack is modular, capacity can be scaled to the range required by customers.

China-based BYD and Bulgaria-based Bulmineral Ltd signed an agreement to create a 50:50 joint venture company, named Auto Group Motors, to produce electric buses in Europe. BYD, the world’s largest electric bus manufacturer, will work together with Bulmineral Ltd, to manufacture pure electric buses in Breznik, Bulgaria.
