Toyotas Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries are considered "non-hazardous waste" [See "high voltage electrical systems" ]. Lithium-Ion batteries share many characteristics with NiMH. Are the batteries recyclable? What about battery safety? Ive heard lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous if they overheat.
