In May 2008, Toyota saw its Prius hybrid car turn it towards profitability in America and it scrapped plans to build a sport utility truck plant in Tupelo, Mississippi and chose to build a Prius plant there instead. Yet when gas prices tumbled later that year, plans for the Prius plant were shelved.

Electric Cars and The Volt Can Transform America and the Auto Industry TODAY!!! While a series hybrid is good, the Toyota Prius gets 100 miles per gallon because after the 20 miles of pure EV mode, it kicks into a hybrid-electric car. It is aggressively in talks with Portland General Electric Plug-In Charging Stations , ( POR ) and other states including Michigan, and California that are scrambling to offer incentives. Toyota still has not made any money on the Prius. I’m sick of hearing about the Prius….I Oh, but theres that nasty carbon based fuel again.
