What is a surprise to us, was the rebound in sales of the Prius Prime, which was up 128% YOY. And as you can see from the chart below, the the Prius is heading toward 60% of its sales being for the Prime PHEV version. Its sales varied widely by quarter from a high of 3,474 to a low of 326 in Q2. 4 (16,742) BEVs.

Don’t worry about dodging puddles in your Prius! There isn’t an electric car for sale in New Zealand today that has scored less than a total five-star ANCAP rating. Under normal working conditions, it is almost impossible for water to come into direct contact with the batteries themselves, posing little to no threat.

I wish the thing was for sale as-is. Well they did give brief bursts of acceleration through the parking lot to show that it does have some Roadster goodness to it. But yes, there was no slalom to see how it handles the twisties. It is probably a real rocket compared to the Daimler version that will eventually show up. Follow us on Twitter!
