Aston Martin is considering a rugged, high-powered super-4×4 to rival the Mercedes G-Class and Land Rover Defender , our sister publication Autocar UK can reveal. Autocar UK has heard that a build run capped at 2,500 units is possible for the Aston 4×4, in a bid to preserve exclusivity.

Two UK-based companies—Williams Advanced Engineering and Unipart Manufacturing Group—have formed a new joint venture—Hyperbat Limited—to produce batteries for future hybrid and electric vehicles. The launch customer for Hyperbat batteries is the Aston Martin Rapide E, which will be a limited production run.
